This agreement
These are our terms and conditions on which we intend to rely. For your own protection we urge you to read them carefully and contact us for clarification if there is anything you have difficulty understanding.
Who are we?
www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk, www.thevaninsurer.co.uk and www.thecaravaninsurer.co.uk are the trading names of Vast Visibility Ltd (FRN541398) which is an appointed representative of Bankstone Ltd. Bankstone are Authorised and Registered by the Financial Services Authority under Firm Reference Number 313985. You can check this here http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/firmSearchForm.do The Bike Insurer is neither an insurance broker nor an insurance company. We are an independent online motorbike / van and caravan insurance comparison site.
What service do we offer?
We will process your data and present you with a list of insurers and insurance brokers for you to choose what is best for you. This list is arranged in order of the most competitive price, but we will where possible, point out other features or benefits that you might wish to consider. At that point our service ends and the insurance broker or insurer you choose will deal with you from there onwards.
We do not charge you for our service. If you take a policy out with one of the Insurance brokers or insurers on our panel, they may pay us an introductory fee.
We will try and find you the most competitive quote from our panel. These are insurance brokers who deal with insurance companies and they will provide you with written details of the service they will offer you.
If you decide to go ahead with any of the quotations, they will tell you the basis on which they have arranged it.
Your responsibilities
You must answer all questions truthfully and accurately as they will be used to calculate your premium, which will be based on the answers you give.
(If you do not tell the truth, or if you mislead or omit important information then insurers will not pay a claim and you will also lose your premium. You might also have to pay compensation or be charged with fraud)
If you are in doubt about what to do, please contact us. Please note that this responsibility also applies to anyone else who will be covered to ride your bike or drive your van. You must obtain accurate information about them also.
To accept a quotation from one of the Insurance brokers we will introduce you to, you will need to visit their website and/or retrieve your details to accept the policy, or contact them by phone.
You will need to reconfirm your details with them before you accept their quotation. This is very important. It is your responsibility to ensure all details are correct as failure to do so could result in your insurance being invalid. It is also important that you read their Terms and Conditions as they will vary with each broker as may any fees they charge, or any credit facilities they are able to provide to you.
Eligibility
There are a number of minimum underwriting assumptions upon which the Bike Insurer provides its quotations. If you do not meet any of the following criteria then you should not continue with the online quote process but call the appropriate number shown on the website.
Our Liability

We do not seek to restrict our liability in law in connection with matters covered by Financial Services Regulation, nor to restrict or exclude our liability where it would be illegal or unfair to do so.
We would remind you that it is your responsibility to make sure your insurance broker and insurer have the correct information necessary to insure you on the right basis. You should not buy insurance without checking to make sure your details are correct. When you receive documents from your broker or insurer you should check again that the details are correct.
